Best players: Chris Gordon - an outstanding game. It's in the blood. His dad was named in two Teams of the Decade.
Whitfords were no pushover. They came to play and were hard at it. Two quick goals in the opening quarter into the breeze gave them great heart and they were abuzz for most of the game. As one Whitford's wag was heard to say after they scored their first goal "Well, we've beaten last week's score already." The windy conditions and rain caused havoc and it isn't always easy quicking with it in the first quarter. We were slow out of the blocks again but once the game settled down the Maggies were the superior team. Coach Lance Lennen who is doing a top job, gave the players a blast at quarter time and the team played much better. Best players were Gordon (amazing performance), Jarrad Jaleski (developing into an important player),Jaymie O'Sullivan, Allan Linden, Christopher Wynne, Tyson Clark, Matthew Johns, Michael Deluca and Alexander Finlayson.
